Accessing your W2s and Paystubs Online
Log into CUNYfirst and click on Employee Self Service, then Other Employee Tasks.
Then click on “New York State Payroll Online” tab. Follow the instructions to activate your NY.gov account.
• After your request is submitted, it is irreversible.
• After your request is submitted, your NY.gov account is estimated to be activated within 15-20 business days. It will not be immediately accessible after your request is submitted.
• After your NY.gov account is activated, a confirmation email will be sent to your primary business email in CUNYfirst containing instructions to verify your identity and to access your account.

Adjuncts and TAs
Onboarding Resources for Adjuncts and TAs
OncOnce you have been offered the position of either Teaching Assistant or Adjunct, the hiring process will begin as follows:
- Department Administrator, Josephine DiMaggio <[email protected]>, will begin the hiring request will and submit the paperwork to Human Resources.
- Once Human Resources begins processing the hire, they will reach out to the employee to complete hiring documents and some additional hiring steps.
- When to begin work:
a. Adjuncts may begin working as soon as they are assigned their courses and are given access to Brightspace. Course content will typically be available on Brightspace 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the semester. Please note, content is available to students two days prior to start of semester.
b. Teaching Assistants may not begin working until Human Resources gives them the green light. - Once hired:
a. The instructor along with the TA are responsible for tracking the TA’s assignments and hours worked, to ensure they do not exceed the total hours allocated for the semester.
b. The TA is responsible for submitting and the instructor is responsible for approving bi-weekly timesheets, indicating the number of hours worked, on or before the due date. A template for these timesheets will be provided by Human Resources.
International students: If you need an authorization letter for the Office of International Students, please reach out Department Administrator, Josephine DiMaggio <[email protected]>, as soon as possible to obtain the letter.
